Writing Trustworthy Content & Articles – Optimizing Tips for Google Panda

creating trustworthy content

In our last article,”Being a Unique Blogger“, we discussed how Google Panda scans for duplicate content and slaps sites down in ranks for stealing other bloggers’ articles. Today we will discuss how Google Panda looks for “trustworthy” and “authority” content using it’s new algorithms and may also extend to your tweets and other social media.

In Richard Baxter’s article, he explains that trust is measured by the links in your article. The more authoritative the link, the more trustworthy the article. An example would be, before posting links to a news related event, check the sources and web for more info and see if the news is actually truthful first. A lot of bloggers “jump the gun” and post information right away upon hearing it. If the information is false and word spreads, Google Panda might push your site down in ranking.

Read your post/article and ask yourself:

  • Would you trust the information offered in your article?
  • Is this article written by someone who knows the topic well?
  • Is the site you linked to a recognized authority on that certain topic?
  • Would you recognize this site as an authoritative source when mentioned?
  • Is this the sort of page you would want to bookmark, share with a friend, or recommend?
    • When building your content, as yourself these questions and your website will be following some very important factors for not only Google Panda, but your readers and followers as well.
